I’ve been watching Hampton on TikTok forever and he’s so talented but of course not anything that I can do. When I went to the website and saw the book and that I can start from scratch I was excited. I’m 61 and it’s so hard to find a program that’s not ridiculously advanced for someone who was alway into cardio and doesn’t have a lot of strength. I’m following the book to the letter. I love hard copy. I have a long way to go but feel I have direction now.

Information is very well organized and explained thoroughly. There are also plenty of failsafes and alternate options for various exercises if one doesn't work for you, and the positive attitude throughout the whole book acts as a good motivator during your workouts. One thing I would suggest is maybe a section for/about stretches to improve flexibility? Fantastic purchase though.

This is an absolutely great program. I’ve enjoyed watching many of Hampton’s videos and learned quite a bit. I definitely recommend this book whether or not it’s for one’s self or as a gift. The one critique I have, which in no way detracts from my 5 star rating, would be regarding the colored “tabs” on the pages. Some might find it more useful if these were staggered rather than in the same spot for the different exercises.

I was initially looking for a systematic, progressive approach to learn how to bridge. I wanted to be able to eventually bridge press, as the old time strong men used to do. Not easy at any age, but especially difficult for an old guy like myself (78). Of course, I went online. Of all those systems I viewed, the method described and demonstrated by Hampton Liu seemed the most sound and sensible. The book is great but I have one point of criticism, for the exercise levels it would be nice if there was a time description as to when you should be able to do the exercise effectively. Gives you beter information about if you're doing the exercises correctly, like level 1 wall-pushups it says 2 sets of 30. It would be nice if it states that it will take you about 2 weeks to complete this level. Gives you better insight about if you're training effectively.

I've had this book for a few weeks now. I'm still in the easiest phases of most of the exercises, but am starting to progress to the next. I like the size of the book, the photos for each exercise, and the clear explanations for each exercise for how to do them and how each one benefits us. The colored section tabs are really nice too. The two exercises a day are not that time consuming, which I also appreciate.

The information is great but the bindings at metal and mine are bent up pretty badly. The pages ripped when turn them.
I tried bend them back as best could, but ended up buying a binder and had the holes punched at the office store.
I feel like for $30, the book itself would've been much quality. I buy hardcover books for less money.
But again, the information and the illustrations are great and I'm working the program.

I'm a huge a fan of Hampton's approach to self-care and sharing joy and value. The physical book is an amazing reference when working out, especially when I want to explore the next movements. I love that it's special bound, too!
It's been the perfect introduction for my partner to develop the basic movements and for me to go back to basics and noticing my compensation patterns. Information is setup efficiently to follow the routine. We get excited about our progress towards the next step!
My only nitpick is that I wish there are more notes on physical cues on body engagement on what we should be feeling so we know we are doing the exercises correctly. But this is a book, not a personal trainer, and as a book it's worth the cost for the ease of reference and slight support for Hampton's work!

Hampton and the team have done an admirable job here: The sequence is both clear and manageable, and the descriptions and pictures are well-thought-out. The spiral binding is a nice touch.
If there's a next edition, I bet it will include worksheets (to keep track of adherence to the program) and another proofreading/editing pass. But none of that should stop you from buying and using this excellent resource immediately.

I've followed Hampton's videos for years now and have dabbled with his program enough to know I love it even if my personal consistency hasn't been great. I got the book at last and have been following along with it for a couple of weeks now. It's VERY achievable even for people who haven't had the best relationship with exercising - like me. So appreciative for the book version of the info so I can keep it visible and looking at me at all times. I needed Hampton's friendly face telling me "you got this" in my little workout corner.

Bought it for myself to get back in shape after letting myself go postpartum. I used to work out a lot but decided to start from the very beginning anyway. It's great. I am noticing uneven strength and mobility on different sides and noticing better posture with after just a week of following the book.
I shared the book with my mom who is in her 60s and she says that she is noticing better posture after just 4 days. The best thing about it, I think, is that the way it's set up makes it really easy to start developing a workout habit. 2 different excercises a day, 2-3 sets each. Doesn't take much time so you have no excuses. Still, you will feel the burn, and you will feel surprisingly sore from what seems like really simple movements.
If you're wondering if it's worth it, it is. Especially if you, like myself, find watching a screen distracting. Referencing the book keeps my mind focused on my task and on what muscles I'm working.
