I use the free website as a baseline routine for my clients and love to have the book for the clients who enjoy a written hardcopy. I appreciate the step by step sequences and we rejoice together as they progress because the path to success is clearly defined and easy to quantify. With a goal firmly in mind, and step by step progressions to follow, the value of consistency as well as hope and confidence are easier to teach because the positive reinforcement is already built into the system. Super excited to recieve my book (however costly with international shipping and the goddang customs) Promised myself to start starting now that I have some instructions on how to do it!
I haven’t skip through the whole book yet, but what I saw was prime content, categorie AAA.
My only bad feeling is the « container » condition.
My book came in a bubble wrapped envelope.
But delivery services being less than gentle with the packages, the metal spiral binding the book was smashed and squished in some places. I had to straighten them up, as good as I could, to be able to turn the pages.
It’s not perfect, but I will manage…
I will probably get it re-bound in an less bendable plastic spiral.

Absolutely loved format of the book. It makes it very easy to follow along and simple to understand. The full color photos help to give example of the form and each exercise gives great information on how to both Implement and make things more or less challenging as needed. A big fan of the spiral-bound version as it lays or stands open while I am going through the workouts and is easier to access and use while working out than my phone.

I’m liking it so far. The pictures are helpful and I would just search some of the videos if I needed an extra visual. I went through all the types of exercises in the book and worked through the beginning progressions. I wrote down my level with rep/set goals to work towards. Now the aim is to choose 2-4 exercises a day to work on while leaving some rest times.
Starting at the most beginner level has been a great way to perfect my form.
The wall push-up was surprisingly difficult for me when done correctly! I can’t wait to feel my strength increase.

This book is a concise and well-structured tour of the simple, accessible, and scalable Hybrid Routine. Having the book handy while I exercise has been a great way to quickly reference the information I need to start a good workout, pick up where I left off, and scale up difficulty as exercises get gratifyingly easier. It is currently the only book in my home gym and the first thing I grab when getting started. As someone who prefers to keep things simple this routine and book have been a blessing!

I have been working out daily for years. For an old lady (I'm 70), I was pretty good; I could even do most of the MARSOC Long card and not die. My usual program ( 1 hour of exercises, 3 mile walk) worked well until I got The Covid That Won't Go Away. So, long story short, after a year of trying various work-out schemes I came upon Hybrid Calithenics. Hampton, you are fun to watch! I like your style...no one will ever accuse you of Grim Determination in your public persona. I started doing the hybrid program, which, wonderfully, is scaleable to what I can do, and I;m getting results. The on-line program is great, but I prefer having actual text sometimes. Hampton, you are like one of my kids!

Very impressed with Hampton's book so far. It's insanely detailed and gives a lot of easy variations on a core set of movements. Each excercise is fully explained in detail and easy to understand language. From there it allows for increasingly harder versions of each movement that you can go to when your able to complete the easier progressions. Highly recommended.

Having better form and able to do more then I thought I could for many exercises as I didn't know there was a harder squat for example so it is great being challenged in new ways (bridges and knee raises anyone?). Excellent book for someone just getting back into a fitness routine. I've only had it for two weeks and can already feel myself getting stronger. The modifications make it accessible for wrist issues (I have psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis). For extra support, with the pushups and pullups, I use boxing wraps on my hands-wrists.

This book is fantastic! It lets you start with what is comfortable and tells step by step how to improve and when to do more. Each exercise has photos and descriptions for every variation from beginner to advanced.
Each section tells about the exercise, why it’s important, and what muscles it works. There are also ways to increase or decrease the difficulty for each variation.
There is even a schedule for what to do each day Monday-Saturday! I have trouble making and sticking to my own schedule so this made it super easy.
The only thing I might suggest is having the sections tabbed separately so they’re easier to see on the side of the book. They are different colors, but it could be easier to flip between exercises. (Shown on my video)

If you have zero experience in trying to work out and become more physical, this is a really great tool to introduce you into working out. It is very simple and easy to follow. The directions are all laid out. It’s useful for anyone at any level of physicality and it’s calisthenics so there’s minimal use of equipment. What you do need to use can be found in any home.
