I've been following Hampton on the Hybrid Calisthenics website for a little while. His methods are very approachable, but I had a difficult time integrating the hybrid routine into my exercise schedule. My brain couldn't keep everything straight, and I'd have to fumble through my phone to look at the schedule and exercise progression. This book eliminates all those frustrations! There's a good amount of helpful pictures and clear text instructions so that it's very clear what I should be working on next.
Before the book, I was struggling to complete exercises three days a week. Since I received the book I've been able to keep up with my exercises on a daily basis. Lo and behold, I'm seeing my reps increase and I'm feeling the effects of working these muscles. Also, thanks so much for making a spiral bound book that lays flat!
Each group of exercises is grouped by printed tabs of different colors, which makes it a breeze to find what I'm looking for. The only criticism or suggestion I have for the next printing is to offset each group of those tabs. This will make it even easier to navigate, as well as help anyone who has trouble distinguishing between the colors.

Great book. I've been getting more & more into calisthenics in resent years. I workout at home due to my work schedule and let's face it, the basis of calisthenics is bodyweight training which you don't need a gym. Great! Money saved. So, why buy your book? Because it helps with developing a program. I'm an independent contractor. Time is money. You lay it all out there and make it easy to jump into my program. Also, thank you for having the insight to publish your book spiral bound! Very practical.
My pandemic / post pandemic story is I'm trying to incorporate Hybrid Calisthenics with my existing fitness program which includes yoga, kettlebells / calisthenics and physical therapy. Injuries, as well as current and upcoming operations, due to athletic pursuits are the main motivators behind my calisthenics program.
To cut this long response short (hey, you asked) calisthenic accomplishments feel damn awesome! Watch Bruce Lee do finger push-ups or "old dude" Jack Palance do one arm push ups and you'll see what I mean. Then there's Flags, Hand-Stands, L-Sits... Hand Stand Push-Ups. To do those! I once could do hand stands and hope to be able to to them again and the rest post surgery.

I’ve often tried to start a basic overall exercise plan that allows me to burn calories but more importantly work all the sections of my body every week. I’m not knowledgeable about fitness and have found every other program/system I have tried to be overwhelming or I have been unwilling to complete them. This is entirely different. I’m certainly not perfect at completing the exercises but I understand what I need to work towards and I am not afraid of hurting myself. I don’t feel like perfection is expected just my best at the moment and as I keep trying improvements will happen.
I’m content in my ability to improve.

This is a fantastic book with very helpful information (and photots!) on how to grade exercises to increase strength and range of motion and meet the person where they are. I provide occupational therapy in a rehabilitation setting and frequently use the regression ideas in this book as a guide for grading activities for my patients. While some of the basic exercises are still too difficult for my patients, the information in the book helps to break down the importance of grading and provides a complementary understanding. I am excited to share this with my coworkers and to see the physical benefits in my own life.

The book is beautifully bound. I love that it is a spiral bound. It makes it much easier to turn from illustration to illustration. The material the book is printed on is nice and thick and it’s large enough so that you can see the illustrations clearly. Normally I try to do free things, but this was well worth the money And I don’t have to make sure I have an iPad with me. I can just take the book if I’m going places and don’t have to worry about having Internet access.

Finally, the awesome Hybrid Calisthenics program is in a format that's great for "old school" users! I've loved the program since I started, but I'm so tied to electronics for my work, it is great to now be able to step away from it when I work on my fitness. This is a great book. The directions are clear, with options for people at every level of fitness. The pictures and text work well together to make it easier to follow, and someone had the foresight to have it published with a lay-flat binding, so you can use it while you are doing the exercises pictured. It's the small things that make it so useful.

I love having this reference in paper--available without electricity, electronics, or computers! And it's so permanent (except during fires and flooding)--it's more likely to still be available for decades or even centuries than your fabulous updatable website and videos!
I won't leave a public review, though, because a few things disappointed me. The spiral is too narrow for easy page turning. (I'm actually trying to think of a way to rebind the book to be easier to use but still thin rather than in a big binder.) You don't have the super easy leg lifts I've been doing (in a chair). And there's a lot of repetition. (Also, it's too tall to fit upright on my shelf, though since there's no title on the spine, this doesn't matter much.)
I like the tabs on the page edges, but they'd be even more helpful if they weren't all at the top of the page, but spread out from top to bottom.
The twisting stretch is an unexpected bonus that strikes me as odd, not being a calisthenic. On the other hand, my boyfriend is one of those people who has trouble twisting to see properly when driving, so I can see the allure of including it.
Overall, I still love it (except for the small spiral), do not regret buying it, and would recommend it to others.

I always loved how inclusive Hybrid Calisthenics has been and it is also present in this book. I first became aware of Hybrid Calisthenics with the video vignettes that would pop up on Facebook. I thought to myself, gee, wouldn't it be cool if there were a book? Something that I could open up to reference to while I (poorly) attempt this exercise? And alas, just like a genie in a bottle, my wishes were answered. Who knew it was that easy? This is a nice sized book with sturdy pages and a spiral binding, very conducive to being used, rather than simply decorating the bookshelf.

The quality of Hampton's Hybrid Calisthenics workout routine book is impressive and contains exercises that anyone can use to increase their strength and mobility. The exercises are fully described and easily comprehendable for even the least experienced, but very challenging to perform at the top of the progressions.
